Transport Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen disclosed plans to hike the charges for acquiring number plates.
Murkomen, while speaking during an interview with Citizen TV’s Trevor Ombija, attributed the planned increase to the hiked cost of the metal plate and the need to support the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) in delivering on its mandate.
According to the CS, Kenyans seeking to acquire new number plates may have to pay a higher amount, up to an excess of Ksh10,000, from the current Ksh3,000.
In his defense, a person who can afford a vehicle can afford 10k to acquire a number plate. Kenyans keep saying punda amechoka but JSKS and his thieving cronies keep adding mzigo.
This is akin to saying just because you can afford to do your monthly shopping in bulk then I should sell you one kilo of sugar at Ksh 2000/-. Surely you can afford that since you can do bulk shopping, no? I guess this is how government lowers the cost of living and improves the economy, yes?
People are criticizing everything. A lot of these problems are are result of incompetent previous regimes. They concentrated on a consumer economy and nothing producer.
