I think spontaneous fires start because it’s dry. But I doubt Mt Kenya is so dry as to start a fire hivyo to. Kuna mtu anatafuta shamba.
The details you’ve asked for however sijui. Last I heard was around 70 (or 700 acres).

The burning was part of land preparation to plant weed.

I border the mountain forest on the western side and it cannot be on fire with the current rains. Right now the whole forest is covered with mist
