Police in Kisii have arrested a man who is suspected to have assaulted a woman during a Kenya Kwanza rally.
In a video that has since flickered on social media, the woman is seen being slapped on the face by a man for shouting the word ‘Azimio’ in response to Deputy President William Ruto.
“When I say Kenya Kwanza, let’s respond with Kazi ni Kazi,” Ruto is heard saying.
Instead of saying Kazi ni Kazi, the woman is instead heard saying Azimio, a political formation affiliated with ODM leader Raila Odinga.
Following the regrettable occurrence, police, in a statement, have identified the man as Joash Atemba Nyagate alias Sokoro and arrested him in connection to the incident
“He is in police custody assisting with investigation and will face court action once investigation is completed,” the statement read in parts.
The National Police Service now wants Kenyans to exercise restraint and accommodate divergent opinions during the electioneering period in order to promote peace.
The video clip that has since been circulated widely on social media elicited fury among a section of Kenyans who have since reprimanded the Kenya Kwanza leaders for their inaction and failure to take action against the attack.

Practice what you preach and be tolerant to divergent views from your diplomatic ones, public rallies can be highly volatile and that idiotic woman saw it fit to laugh and chant the competitors words.
