Yesterday I watched as Masaai leader after Masaai leader at the Keen funeral preached tribal unity for the sake of fighting for their land/political ‘rights’.

Today I am seeing the Luhya do the same thing; oh, we need to unite, oh we need a paramount tribal chief.

What strikes me is that tooth-pick legged meno-brown mdomo kauka shiny-eyed mungichs never make these kind of calls for tribal unity. Kila mtu huamka anaenda bushere, matatu, shamba, kuiba, kupigana ngeta, umalaya, etc etc.

Lakini ikifika voting day/politics wooooooote wanaangalia mahali moja kama siafu. PAP! Tyranny inafanyika!

Hii kitu huwa genetic to shiny-eyes kama kuiba ama?

I think it is this big ethnicities that have a problem of fragmentation. Sijaskia wataita wakifanya rally at mwatate or @Kasighau to nominate their tribal spokesperson.

Luhya tribe was formed in 1957, and first appeared in the 1959 census, a new arrival the Kalenjin appeared in 1989 census first and still holds to date.
But the Kalenjin holds strong. But the Luhya Union was based on straws.
