When growing up there was this elderly couple whom we attended church together. They had a 2acre piece of land where they lived happily with their kids and grand kids .
Year 2008 the granddad died , then 2010 the sosho died , their youngest son continued living there the rest had already moved and lived elsewhere .
Then come 2015-20 plots price sky rocketed from 120k to 800k . Most families were subdividing their land to sell as plots . As for this family the other sons got greedy too and we’re ready to sell this hereditary shamba by subdividing it .. the son living there refused even after much persuasion .
One evening alone in the homestead , he was shot dead as he milked his cow and acid poured all over his face .
His death was a shock to the community what was wrong . Who would harm such a hard-working farmer …
After he was burried , that shamba was quickly subdivided and a big poster "plots for sale with ready titledeed .
Land buyers bought it chapchap and the only plot not sold is where the graves are. But soon am sure those graves will be leveled and sold off as plot magutaguta …
Never co-own property with a Kikuyu. Even if you yourself are a Kikuyu.
In the 15 years I’ve lived in Kiambu, I’ve seen quite a number of my Kikuyu friends, associates and neighbours getting screwed by their own families, friends and associates. Land, vehicles, bank balances, company shares.
I have also seen people killed in kavirondo and other places over land after getting screwed by their own families, friends and associates.. Avoid kavirondo and those other places.
