Starehe gharama… we used about 4 full tanks…about 20k on fuel… this was the main cost… the rest were small costs like accommodation which was roughly 1000 per day…we shared a room with my friend except when there was female company. If you have a chick in tow consider getting a 2k room. Food was quite cheap…1/2 kg of nyam chom with ugali will cost approximately 400bob in a nice hotel…so about a K for all meals and water that you may need in a day. Beer is quite cheap about 120 to 150 bob…you can drink yourself silly if you wanna. Biggest challenge is buying items which were initially not part of the plan…I love art so I bought a few paintings and other artwork which dented my pocket…and clothes as well. If you have a chick she is likely to go overboard with shopping so you have to discuss it beforehand… personally I spent close to 30k. But bought items for mum and siblings as well. Rembr 10k of that 30 went to fuel. Also there were other costs like paying for east African car insurance…yellow fever vaccination and buying items such as jumpers, torch and other car accessories in preparation for the journey but I spent approximately 30k in general which is cheap to be fair… this trip would cost close to a hundred were it organised by a tour company.

If you’ve never seen ass shaking on overdrive then you’ve got to see baikoko. It puts to shame all that twerking shyte on media. The crowd makes it amazing as well they do all kinds of tricks…I saw one guy tear a 10,000 bob tzsh and gave a half note to two dancers who had won his heart but couldn’t decide who was better. Hilarious stuff.

thanks for the info. I know better than to string along a girl for such a trip. If ever I were to plan will do so with three male friends. Wasichana tutakutana nao tu huko

And 30K is a modest cost.
How long was the trip?

My advice is that you spend at least two days per location…when you’re driving the next day you’ll always be mindful of your alertness… Yes ukienda na dem utajifunga…au mtakosana.

Baikoko started at 2:00am and ended at 5:00am we got to the car at 6:00am . We were so upbeat that we didn’t have time to look for a room … afraid baikoko would bypass us. Lol. We parked the car next to tanga port under the light of a docked ship…adjusted our seats and slept till 11:00 am.
