Donald Drumpf calls any media house that doesn’t agree with him ‘the Fake News’. He even had his own Fake News awards. Ironic, isn’t it? The guy ascended to power because of a lot of fake news (read about Cambridge Analytica’s role in the US elections).
I won’t waste time asking for the media to be impartial. The media, just like any other business, knows who butters it’s bread. Impartiality is so 1990. However, what I would ask of the media is factual news. If you lean towards the government please give the government 80% of coverage. But please make sure that whatever you cover is put in context. Don’t explain anything to us. Let us discern everything we see on your network by ourselves. If you are NASA-leaning that’s the same thing I can ask of you - facts and context. No matter who butters your bread, no matter who has your soft spot, as the media facts cannot be thrown out of the window. Facts must be accompanied with context. If these miss then you are no better than FAKE NEWS!
Fake news or not we must fuck.
