KTN Fell Off Hard. Damn!

This is what happens when you abandon your audience.

Citizen TV is not going anywhere.

KTN needs to get their shit on ADN. I think that’s where most people watch FTA channels. And stop trying to be Citizen.

KTN are new in the live stream game. They started bringing KTN home livestream late last year. But majority of Kenyans tune into Royal media services and KTN keeps producing Top notch journalist that when they leave, they are paid huge salaries by other stations just to join them. E.g, Lilian Muli, Linus kaikai, Larry Madowo, Betty Kyalo and the rest

Difference btw KTN and Citizen is Citizen targeted ordinary mwananchi on their local programming. For example inspector mwala, papa shirandula etc. On these programs the cast behave and talk like ordinary kenyans.

Sasa wakina KTN focused more on cool kids who try their best to sound like wakina Obama. Hawa cool kids do not watch KTN and the characters wa hizi series za rusungu mingi do not connect with local raia.
This how Citizen dominated our local tv space.

KTN had its audience. The ‘cool kids’ as you say. But when Citizen appealed to a larger audience by airing Naija movies, local shows, rhumba music etc, KTN ditched their core audience and decided to copy Citizen. Who wants to watch a knockoff? Citizen audience stayed with Citizen. KTN viewers departed.

Hao cool kids core audience is very small that’s why KTN ditched them to try and capture the wider audience.
Kwanza saa hii with broadband the KTN cool kids audience would’ve shrunk even more since they can access tv series and movie at a HD quality more easily.
Nani atataka kuwatch rings of power at 480p on their 65" tv when you can get 4K?

KTN ni ya mugathe Moi

Cool kids don’t watch TV stations nowadays. Kuna Netflix, YouTube, Plex, Roku etc

KTN used to claim it was the authoritative channel back then until the likes of John Allan Namu left.
