Looking for and observing birds can be very calming. Concentrating on their world can help take your mind of any stresses in your own world. Bird watching can be a form of exercise. You may choose to watch birds while sitting in your own backyard or from a park bench.

I believe thats enough for today. Learning birds is not a hard task. You just require interest. You can join me next weekend but 1, June 29th for a day trip to Lake Magadi. I can show you lesser and greater flamingos among other birds that live in salty waters

Next time, to pull more locals, try giving the names of the birds in local languages and the times that they can be observed. That will help you attract a wider audience.

The only birds I know in my local language is Gaciibi and Kijia ( Meru langauage). I bet we suffered a lot when mother tongue was scrapped out of the syllabus :D:D:D

Afadhali wewe , weka picha ya gaciibi and kijia nijifunze, I only know nyoni and aluru in native languages, hata duck sijui inatwaje na kimeru. The best places to see rare species is around lakes and adjacent islands like Rusinga Island and Mfangano. Also Ruma Park Homa Bay in Lambwe Valley very unique species.

One of the most destructive birds I know. We call in mùthù in our area… Eats practically anything…maize,beans,tomatoes,fruits,avocado(I know)…anything .
Woe unto you should a flock land on your plants…
