We are known to be a Tech hub giant and true to it majority of companies have embraced the new technologies.
However there is still a good number of them living in dark days trying to massage the outdated technologies.
Guys didn’t Microsoft stop supporting Windows server 2003,believe me i met an IT Manager last week still supporting applications run from the server, reason because the management won’t approve a budget to upgrade the apps to platforms that are compatible with new servers.
They say,if it is working, don’t break it.
At the same time the guy is talking about data centre yet the old guards won’t approve a 5m-10m on-prem server let alone talking to them about cloud.
Mbona hao wazee hukuwa mangatii hivyo and if their company is going to stand the test of times, they will have to upgrade their infrastructure which will still take costs which they are running away from.
Someone talk to this insurance guys…who still run a VB6.0 desktop application today…
Ujinga ni talanta…couldn’t read the rest verbal diarrhea
Nugu hii niondokee
Nugu ni nickname ya nyanyako Nini…unamuitia akusaudie kutombwa?
Have you been to some remote county offices unapata wanatumia Office 2010 downloaded from a torrent site? Kaspersky yao pia ni ya izo enzi, if it scans your flash and finds some malware it crowed like a struggled chicken
Maze you are worse than @patco . Spewing negativities in every post. Worse yet you dont even know how to express yourself. Writing like a toddler.
Office haina shida. Its a mere application. Ungesema OS na server.
Iko.mahali kwingi kwa kukulia lakini mangati hawapitishi budget
Mimi umbwa ningependa kupatana nayo ni ile ilitengenezea NSSF their online portal. I don’t know exactly what the fucker was going for or wanted to prove. Yaani uploading a simple excel file imekuwa kama rocket science.
But truth be said, most organisation are inept when it comes to technology except for one IT guy ambaye hananga sauti. Unapata a whole organisation iko na IT department but mtu anafanya kazi ni mmoja pekee. Wengine waliletwa na wadosi including the IT manager. I nearly died when some kalenjin lady who happened to be an “IT manager” in one of the govt agencies aliniletea laptop yake eti inaonesha blue screen niangalie shida ni nini. To say that she was green would be a gross understatement.
tell me the name of the company tuvuruge. after am done with them watamove to Azure ama aws.
And who still uses windows servers anyway? They should move to Unix/Linux. The IT manager should let the oldies know of the vulnerabilities they are exposed to by using obsolete unsupported OSes.
Mimi nishaipata mtu bado anarun Windows XP bana. Mwingine bado anatumia Word 2007 na ujinga ya Word 2007 ni ati haiezi covert word document to PDF. Unashangaa kwani haezi pata word hata ya 2013 hata kama iko cracked lakini inaeleweka technology is not everyone’s cup of tea.
Most of GOK offices.
Ojinga indiot next
Target Insurance companies, usiendee the big-tier,hao wako chonjo
Still much in use
If it ain’t broken don’t fix it
Very problematic and it affects uptime
This is why am saying,if you visit many corporates you will find that they still run on old infrastructure and need to upgrade to move with time.
Lakini wewe uko na bias ya OS,window servers are equal to the task for as long as it is upgraded.
I have deployed several on cloud(azure) and they are the best.Shida huwa ni hizo cost coz it tends to give the best performance at higher cost…when you bring in RAM,cpus and so on
While working as intern in national library nilipata some senior officers wanatuma windows za huko 2000. I have never seen such awkward moments am IT guy but operating that thing was task since my first windows to use was 2007
