Somali is a desert where do they get the charcoal from ? Someone enlighten me

Desert ndio hiyo elder.

Most of Somalia is actually shrubland and woodland. At an estimated 6-8million sacks of charcoal per year (actual could be much higher), they’re simply destroying the environment like there’s no tomorrow. Deforestation on a crazy scale. KDF apparently charges 200 per sack coming into Kenya. They also control illegal sugar imports.
Ni kubaya.

Southern somalia is very green covered in trees and shrubs. FYI Boni forest extends all the way to somalia.

Why are they destroying such a beautiful land and coming to block Nairobi sewage system by overloading Eastleigh system?

Si hata wakamba huko kitui are major charcoal suppliers. Southern somalia has more tree and shrub cover than kitui. Also trees regenerate after cutting so charcoal is a renewable resource.

A cautionary tale

Hypocrites speak ill of charcoal as if there is not a charcoal selller after every 100-200 meters in most of Nairobi’s residential areas.

KDF should cut all trees in Somalia and reduce it to a desert
