Neighborhoods that were exclusive 20 years ago like Lavington, Kilimani and Kileleshwa have been infested with noisy clubs and churches.
The only reason noisy clubs and churches haven’t infested Karen, Runda and Muthaiga is because powerful people in the government live in those neighborhoods.
Like this complainant has lived in Othaya road the past 20 years – a place that was very exclusive. But right now, she can’t even sleep peacefully in her house.
Na sio yeye pekee yake. Watu ni wengi sana.
Watu walikuwa wanaiishi huko kitambo ata walihama venye hawa “new money” wa kuiishi kwa high-rise apartments walianza kuiingia hizo neighborhoods.
Walianza kujenga STUDIOS hizo areas za Lavington/Kile/Kili. Gorofa moja iko na watu 50+ kama Pipeline. Jam nayo ikaongezeka hizo areas.
Its a fact that those areas are no longer exclusive. However, they are still better than 99% of Nairobi. The smart people already sold their properties for a fortune and left.
As always, the developers (elites) cashed out like bandits and left the gullible middle class with a bag of overpriced apartments.
Hao gullible upper middle class complaining are deluded and do not realize that the ground has shifted beneath their feet. It was a finesse. The smarter developers continue to shaft them with exorbitant service charges even after selling entire projects.
Watalia serikali saidia until they smarten up, accept that times have changed, and leave those areas.
Kuna mtu alilipa 10s of millions anaamshwa na wagithomo 4AM every Sunday on his only day off.
That’s not the exclusive side of Karen.
There are a lot of restaurants, malls and bars along that road. Ata huko kuna chuom ya kukunywa keg hapo Blaxx.
I’m talking about the residential area of Karen – huko ndani ndani kama Bogani, Karen road, Ndege road.
People confuse langata with karen. Bomas, Catholic university, galleria mall are all in langata. Even bogani is in langata. Karen starts hapo karen country club. Being a member of karengata which means karen and langata doesn’t mean you are in karen
