Weka ur phone hata kama umezima data next to a tv with an Indian / Hindu soap Opera.
2 days later check the type of Ads utapata… during my test I got Zuku adverts with their Asian packages

big data, data mining yada yada yada

This stupidity has to permanently stop

Kulikuwa na saga flani a year ago about cameras and spyware hidden in smart TV’s.

You see all those guys selling new nokia(mulika mwezi) phones on the streets.I think they are on to something.

Now you are scaring me…

This is my understanding;

If i i’m a big biz and i want to to expand,e.g by buying a printing machine ideal for printing photos for wallpapers,it is obvious that i wont want to gamble. So,i can approach a company like facebook and ask them to give me all info regarding people who show interest in photography in kenya na pia interior design and from this info i can do my own analysis as to how big the potential market segment is. ndio nijue whether my biz idea will have a good return on investment or not. Nisinunue machine that might not break even.

Ofcourse facebook wont give me that info for free.

inakuanga $1.20 hapo.
nishawahi fanya hio kitu wakakata 284/= kwa prepaid card.
sijui kama walikula na ya kutoa pia

Why do you think Whatsapp is an ad-free FREE app?
It’s a data mining rig.
Data is king these days.

i was recently on reddit nikisoma vitu zangu then someone posted about Marie kondo.
totally unrelated to the topic i was reading.
after kumalizana, nikaweka simu chini na kustrech nikishout “marie kondoooooooooo” .
usiku kufika napata video recommendations za marie kondo kwa YouTube

No, the info, on your smartphone is alot, people who are a little bit private, may benefit from having such a phone.
Also they take abuse more receptively.

Data mining has been gold ever since time immemorial

Rafiki you’re 1000 yrs late to the party

You’re correct, but there’s very little you can do. Even if your were to close your FB, google (android), apple or any other accounts that you have (including ktalk), all that data has been archived. Almost everyone has either a passive (collected without your knowledge) or an active digital footprint (what you’ve shared). Google and FB are EXTREMELY notorious when it comes to data collection. Not to get too deep, that’s why your web content is different for everyone (some of it is based on your IP address, but most of it is customized based on your digital identity). Most of the apps that you have on your phone are constantly collecting pretty much every keystroke you make (some info is not personally identifying, but a great deal of it is). Also ( and I’m not trying to scare you) a good number of data mining codes are built into operating systems and there’s no way to stop these processes. Bottom line- YOU’RE SCREWED There are ways you can somehow protect your info, but it’s boring I don’t want to waste your time.

I was arguing na Househelp why she leaves the house during the day…akasema"mimi sitokangi kwa nyumab na mtoto!'"

So I asked her to log into her gmail We see…and she was so sure me ni fala…using google maps timeline nilimshow where she was at what time… sai akiniona anapiga corner to the next room…

:D:D:D How is that even possible. Hii tech si mchezo bana

That’s what I was saying the other day, I met a primo school mate in town, the next day, FB inanipatia jina yake as people I may know, my phone data was off, my location off, we never exchanged numbers…
