Is there a cheap way to make hard water soft? I live in a place where maji is supplied from a borehole…and inaharibu shower heads plus the piping kwa hao. Is there something that I can add to the house water tank to make the water soft?

You would have to install an ion exchange softener (or any other form of system) to treat your water immediately from the bore hole before it gets to the house.

For the water it will be advisable to use ppr pipes green plastic ones…for the shower don’t use the ordinary shower head use the one for borehole water it has a stronger element…
tumia maji boiro (baridi) or make use of washing soda [sodium carbonate] together with the washing detergents to launder your precious “clads”. Alternatively, you can invest in a small ion exchange filter that you connect in the water outlet e.g kitchen, laundry room ama kwa jafereji yoyote. Cons: depending on the extent of water hardness, cost of replacing the filter cartridge may be toooooo high.

Hizo pipes za green ziko and I use shower heads za maji ya borehole cz I was told the element is stronger but shower head moja ishachapa. When I opened it up nikapata element imerust mbaya. That’s why I am looking for a solution to soften the water in the house reservoir.
