How much power does a mikrotik router consume.

Since the installation of a home-based router, my electricity bill has doubled and I’m suspecting this router.
Any clarification?

The more people you have connected,… the more it guzzles…

Whats its power rating. But I doubt ndio kinyonyi coz most routers huwa za 12V with less than 10W.
Haifai kumaliza ata unit moja in a day.

Atakama sijasomea electrical, it cant be router.

First of all, you should know that once you surpass 100 units a month, KPLC sells you tokens for 15.8 shillings rather than 10 Bob. So what you are paying for tokens this month is dependent on your consumption last month.

It might seem like a coincidence, but most likely you were just about to “double” your power bills. Eg, a lorry hanging over a cliff, and a bird lands on the wrong side, offsetting the balance. Think of your router as a small bird. I suggest you examine the main power draws in your house.

It is also possible that having unlimited internet in your house influenced a change of behaviour that contributed to more power consumption. The router could be the reason, but not in the way you assume it has.

Guys you haven’t asked him the obvious question which router are we talking about here, maybe he has something like mikrotik rb4011i which consumes quite a bit

Router haiwezi tumia stima mingi. I’m not very good in physics but I understand how power consumption works. Unit moja ni 1000wh. If you use fridge (120w) itaisha na kama 8 hours. Instant shower ni 5500W. Microwave kama 1000W. Routers mingi ni 18W (12V, 1.5A). Hata iki run 24/7 itachukua more than one week kumaliza unit moja.

Vile @ilon musk amesema, ni vitu zingine zinamaliza stima. Mimi huona token iki blink mbio saa yenye shower iko on, Pengine itakusaidia kujua stima inaishia wapi

very good question

Gugu wamesema max power ya hii mikrotik ni 44 W

there is no way that it can consume thing can consume more than 10w

My basic physics says that wattage is =voltage x Amps that is if the thing is 12v 2A then it takes 24 watts

A mikrotik router doesn’t consume more than 25W, which is too little to hike your electricity bill.
1 token is equal to 1,000 watts.
