How many Israelites survived the trip from Egypt to Israel?

According to the biblical account in Numbers 14, when the Israelites rebelled at Kadesh after hearing the spies’ fearful report, God declared that the entire generation that had left Egypt would die in the wilderness. The punishment was for their lack of faith — they had seen miracles, yet still doubted that God could bring them into Canaan.

However, there were exceptions:

  • Joshua son of Nun and Caleb son of Jephunneh, the two spies who trusted God’s promise, were explicitly spared.
  • The younger generation — those under twenty years old at the time of the rebellion — were also allowed to enter the Promised Land.

So in essence:

  • The adult generation that left Egypt perished during the forty years of wandering.
  • Their children — born in the desert or too young during the Exodus — were the ones who crossed the Jordan with Joshua.

Be Humble.

Why did God have to punish them for being human (doubtful)? Was He really fair?

The same God who put Himself in human form, sacrificed Himself so that humanity can be saved.

Good luck trying to understand God and whether he was fair or not.

If you cannot believe your own eyes after seeing a massive pillar of flame in the middle of a desert, and splitting the sea into two such that dry land is visible, what will you believe?

Second, doubt is not a natural human instinct like fear of falling, heights or loud noises. It’s Satan’s main power, you can test it yourself.. try doing something for the benefit of someone else vs yourself. You will trigger doubt instantly.

God is never FAIR . HE Is JUST.

Can’t spell ‘justice’ without ‘just’.
