It’s interesting. When a President gives an executive order, also known as a Presidential directive in some countries, it can only be lifted or removed by another President.

For example, if a corrupt President X from country Y issues an illegal surveillance order on a private citizen in another country, that order stays in effect even if that President leaves office.
