Kilimani/Kileleshwa/Lavington+Westlands have some of the best apartments in Kenya. Unfortunately, a massive increase in the number of residents means that the areas are no longer exclusive. If you are rich and want to live in peace, go and rent/buy in a controlled development area where the density of people is low e.g minimum land subdivision 1/4 or 1/2 acre and no apartment blocks allowed. Exclusivity and high density don’t go hand in hand.
In 2022, one developer was “stopped” by NMS from building 870 bedsitters in Kilimani. High density = No exclusivity = A Future Paipu. Kilimani and surrounding areas have too many apartments and as people move in to occupy them, these noise problems will just get worse. Wenye walinunua apartments huko will bear the biggest cost. Nowadays Kilimani ni kama tuu vile Koinange Street ilikuwa kitambo…lanyes everywhere at night.
