without a doubt that Machakos
Governor, Alfred Mutua, is one of
the best performing leaders in the
Country.
This can be proved by the number
of successful development projects
he has launched in his County.
On Wednesday, he made an
impromptu tour of Machakos
County suburbs to inspect the
level of cleanliness in various
areas. But he happened to find a
heap of garbage dumped on a
section of the road and he decided
to suspend those involved.
Here’s his full statement
explaining why he decided to take
that stern action.
During an unscheduled tour of
Machakos City Suburbs, I was
shocked to find heaped garbage
dumps, contrary to my
Government’s Policy and
System set-up.
I have, with immediate effect,
suspended the Machakos Town
Sub County’s Administrator
Patrick Manthi, the County’s
Director of Garbage Collection
and disposal Directorate
Muema Wambua; the Machakos
Town Garbage Collection
Manager Paul Mutunga and the
Supervisor of the garbage area
of Machakos CBS-Eastleigh
section Jackson Mutuku.
They have been suspended for
dereliction of duty and not
keeping to Machakos County
Government’s Policy of a clean
and garbage free environment.
The County Secretary will
initiate a disciplinary process
and appropriate measures will
be taken.
During this period of their
suspension, their deputies will
act.
There is no reason for any part
of Machakos County to be dirty.
Already, the County is the
cleanest in Kenya and we will
ensure Wananchi receive the
services they deserve. Lethargy
and laziness in my Government
will not be tolerated in any of
the Government departments.
Wananchi need to see value of
their taxes and their
Government at work.
Alfred Mutua is all about PR, just go to macha and ask the locals.
