Harvest Time: Maina Kiai Wakes Up For 2017!!

Remember how Maina Kiai (and Gladwell Otieno) opened a website that would provide us with evidence that the 2013 elections were rigged?

Africog launches website on electoral malpractices

Within a month, the site was still empty and had become a haven for viruses. It was so obvious that it had been created to con donors who had given Kiai money to finance his pet project: Uhuru and Ruto’s exclusion via ICC or the courts.

The ‘activists’ always disappear between elections, to suddenly re-emerge with all manner of stunts to catch donor attention and rake in the fools’ investments. The other guy with this habit is Mwalimu Mati of “Marsgroup Kenya”. They never release accounts and no auditor has ever examined their books.

Kiai is back after four whole years of silence:

I consider him and his ilk traitors

They are paid to undermine the leadership of the country, they pretend to be fighting for the truth but really all they do is make noise and get some money out of it, they use our problems as a country to fill their pockets , they betray our country

So in the same line of thinking Imanyara, Muite, Anyona, Matiba, etc were paid to undermine the leadership of MOI. Were they traitors? I am just asking, no attack?

Hehehe don’t be funny , are all the people you have mentioned in bed with the westerners? We can see the result of their fight , show me maina’s results. Maybe he started genuinely but that boat changed course.

In principle I am looking at a dissenting voice. No matter how sophisticated society is they are always needed as a defender/ voice / question of common public. Dictators work by muffing dissenters. You will need some financing to dissent. Does it matter where you get it. There are defamation laws in the country if they tell tales. They can be prosecuted.

They take genuine concerns, fluff them up with innuendo, supposition and stretched half-truths to formulate high and noble sounding propositions that are salable to donors but neither address the original problem nor are practical.

Catch phrases like dictatorial tendencies, abuse of Human Rights, corruption, disease, ignorance, universal suffrage, ad nauseam are very useful in this context.

Note that all of them are genuine problems but none of these characters has ever done a damn thing about them despite being funded every election year since 19-kamande.

But msiogope wazungu sana.

I was reading the progression of this thread and waiting for you to expound on Kiai’s actual achievements since you threw in a formidable list of genuine national heroes up there. Wapi?

Your instincts to oppose exceeded your capacity to explain.

In a society where thinking tends to be 1 dimensional (not necessarily a bad thing ), I really never intend to oppose but rather have people view things from a different perspective.
But if I may expound. A dissenter needs financial backing since its a full time job. So one can curve a profession (like Kiai) based on dissent itself. Just like a school teacher, banker, farmer, etc . Do we really need to ask these people for accomplishments / achievements when they show up in different faucets of life. I thought this was limited to business people (asking for your money), judicial leaders and sometimes leaders of the executive. After all, a dissenters’ actions will be judged publicly by the very people he is standing for.

Actually, it was better without your explanation.

Ati ‘a dissenter needs financial backing since it’s a full time job’? The whole point of this thread is where Kiai has been since the aborted ‘Peoplescourt’ flopped, and why his reappearance is always timed to coincide with political campaigns. He missed Okoa Jakuon, Waiguru and Kabura, referendum and bovine signatures, IEBC must go, teargas, etc., but is now back to bash the new IEBC.

So obviously looking to shake down the embassies and international NGOs for ‘civil education’ bullshit, kama desturi.
