Does getting a first class in campus matter at all or even to say the least,is it worth the struggle?
I want to imagine that most of the big fish in the legal proffession probably got a first class.Am not so sure,but has anyone had any priviledge from being in the same class kwa hii kijiji tafadhali leta hekaya tusaidie mtoto wa mtu.
makes you feel good/rewarded for your effort…and will inspire your children when you get them.

Ni vigumu sana kupata first class especially kama inafanya vitu kama finance, accounts etc lakini kama wewe ni mtu wa journalism, counseling, theology, first class utapata

Well, first class is good if you want to pursue masters abroad. Utapata scholarships mingi and if its a first class from a place like UoN you will be exempted from quality/entry tests za most foreign universities. First class is also good if you want to work for some bosses (like my last two bosses) who have a habit of head hunting for people who got first class(or even cum laude). Hata Mutahi Ngunyi goes for such talent
Just to clarify,
cum laude means with distinction
Magna cum laude means with great distinction
Now now
Summa cum laude means with the greatest distinction.
In life, Summa cum laude are few and far between.
Doesnt matter hii kenya. Degree ni degree bora usipate pass.
Employers are more interested in Experience.
So all first class honours and second class lower division honours must go through internship programs first which cancels the fact that first class honours are always prioritized…
except well if you know someone who knows someone who knows someone who can connect you to a job

It’s a great achievement that takes you ahead of the pack for entry level opportunities, however you have to prove yourself to advance further along the road.

Not really. Getting a summa c laude is graduating with a GPA of like 3.8. Granted it means you were getting like As in all your classes but not impossible.
My graduation year there were quite a few but it just means those were guys who didn’t go to campus and lived the life.

Actually my former classmate and good friend has never had a B in college. She scored As from first year to masters then went on and finished her PhD in record time…she did all this while partying like any other college student. Shes now a distinguished snr lecturer kule SA, soon to be a Prof.

My FH got a first class in Eng, maybe it opened doors lakini salo isn’t that great. Not terrible, but not exceptional either for all the sacrifice he made. He deserves much more. I’m so proud of him, imagine getting a first class si mchezo moreover in a technical field.
