I frequent the Nairobi - Garissa route and being that I’m not related to Duale or any other Somali tycoon I use public means.
I’ve noticed something absurd in these buses, they have two conductors , one is usually a Somali and the other a Mkamba or a nywele ngumu as they’re referred to here.
The Mkamba conductor is left to do the odd jobs like touting, distributing water/ snacks in the bus more like a slave while the Somali guy is the slave owner- usually a pot bellied fella who has a receipt book and bundles of money on him.
I find this utterly disgusting?

Huyo nywele ngumu anafurahia ako na kazi. You’d be surprised how many ‘nywele ngumus’ search for that position kwa those bus companies
