Politicians’ Rural Roots: A Calculated Ploy to Manipulate Sympathy and Secure Power
Ever wondered why we seem to know that Robert Alai is from Nyando or Jalango is from Homabay, or Edwin Sifuna is from Kanduyi, or the conman Gabriel Oguda is from Kolenyo or Millicent Odhiambo Mabona calls herself NyarSuba and finally and most important of all, genocidal baboon and thief beyond measure William Ruto is from Sugoi?
All of us hail from one rural area or another, but how come we prominently know where a specific set of individuals hail from? Where did this unsolicited knowledge come from?
This crop of opportunists often emphasize their rural origins as a deliberate psychological strategy.
By spotlighting their humble beginnings, they craft a narrative that evokes sympathy, portraying their communities’ poverty as a consequence of external forces - namely, urban elites - rather than local leadership failures or misguided electoral choices.
This tactic is a form of emotional manipulation, leveraging the “underdog” archetype to build trust and gain access to ideological and political spaces.
The goal is not to address the inequalities they highlight but to exploit these narratives to perpetuate cycles of self-serving corruption. By presenting themselves as champions of the marginalized, they deflect accountability and secure influence, using sympathy as a tool to maintain power.
The potency of this strategy is evident in William Ruto’s “hustler vs. dynasty” narrative, which resonated deeply with rural voters.
By framing himself as a defender of the disadvantaged against an urban elite, Ruto manipulated perceptions to gain power, not to uplift his supporters but to entrench his own interests, revealing the deceptive allure of this psychological ploy.
Rural-bred retarded bastards who dangle their backwater roots as a badge of humility so as to antagonize urban dwellers, are a danger to society.
The first step is to isolate them from your social circles. Block anyone touting their poverty-stricken background or their backwater shithole county as a badge of honor from your proximity.
