In the world we live in, you pray that you never have to go to hospital, because you never know what will happen.
People need to start living healthy and back to traditional medicine.
Multiple stab wounds unafikiri ni mchezo? There’s a higher probability it was not just a single Surgeon. Then inakuja stori ya MP Shah sio hosi ya serikali…
Im willing to give the hospital benefit of doubt. They are pricy but alot goes into a surgery. Multiple surgeons, anesthetist, cardiologist, e.tc each taking maybe 30 to 50k. Like 5 nurses shuffling about, ventilation machines, resuscitation machines, blood transfusion and dialysis machine(There is one specifically used in ICU that can cost 300k for a session) to control state of patient’s body, other machines and the fluids and meds input used to run them, then the medicines themselves that are not off the shelf mass produced tablets, oxygen e.tc. This was an ICU bed, not ward bed. each ICU bed has a 24 hour nurse and ICU intensivists specialist doctors, backup power, oxygen and clean air suppllies. Then theatre charges and the machines , consumables like bandages e.t.c. Government does not pay these doctors and nurses in a private hospital so their salaries are included in the bill unlike a public hospital. MP shah pricey, yes, but this isnt a case of a patient admitted in a ward and died. Lots of stuff can happen in 24hours. Heart transplant can happen in a few hours, should we say it should cost 100k only because its a short time?
It’s sad that she died . But the quality is on some professional level .
My cousin was once in a road accident , gari imekunjwa kama chapati … broken jaw and face bones , legs bones almost shredded on one leg
People who got to him sent him to Kenyatta hospital … he was left turning blue , swollen , can’t talk or be recognized and doctors going for amputations .
Luckily his boss got to him and called Nairobi hospital to get him , 2.5 million bob later and the man is brand new , walking and no signs . True medical care isn’t cheap at all , ni sisi wakenya we are way beyond broke yet hatujui .
I dunno what kinds of incentives this would have, but maybe hospitals should only be allowed to charge such humongous fees if they save the patient. Or maybe just recoup their costs, wasi-charge profits.
Coz hizo ni pesa mingi sana for someone they were unable to save.
This is of no consequence if you’re stabbed or shot or have an accident. And btw hawa naturologists are other fake doctors coming up with concotion that costs alot and will not help you. Kenya has a alot of quacks masquerading as traditional medicine doctors afadhali conventional med drs. However MP Shah sio hosi poa. Ive had bad experience there first of all with some asian mamas whom I highly doubt if theyre real doctors , asking you to do unnecessary procedures, if you’re not assertive, utapelekwa theatre over non existent problem. I was having some abdominal pains and when I was sent for scan the person operating the scanner and I got to talking, I told him how my muhindi mama doctor is insisting that I need theatre. He was a muhindi man he point black told me ,its unnecessary - not in so many words but I got the drift, after I went home the pain begun usiku and I went back immediately the mama was called and she said I be admitted and set up for operation by 6am. I asked what was being operated when scans show nothing, I was told to stop being a difficult patient and get admitted as if I go home I will die. I said theres no way I will sleep there least they sedate me and take me to theatre against my wishes, I signed a release of culpability form and left. I left bought strong painkillers and never went back. Another time I got another fat muhindi lady with a huge speculum kama ya ngombe I told her there is no way she will touch me with that thing. Badaye after some investigation I learnt that the first mama is not even a real doctor, its her husband who is the doctor yet she consults both at MPshah and Nrb Hospital and has a clinic even. In Kenya am telling you we are surviving by God’s grace. How many times have I had to insist on a test because the Dr is like no its not necessary. After many mishaps with Drs niliamua I have a say and will never be a submissive patient, after doing the test reluctantly it turns out am the one who was right. Hii system my frens ni ya majambazi, I learnt this bcz as a child I had a condition that made me see several specialists I quickly learnt that ethical doctors are very very few. You see a Dr he cant sort you but keeps you consulting because he wants to kula that cash for the consult, when you get 2nd and 3rd opinions the answer is completely opposite. One time a Doctor ruined my skin with steroids -he was a luo professor, he sees you for 2 minutes, he charges 3500/= to prescribe the same same steroid over and over even if its harming you, when I got a second opinion at a less highly recommended dermatologist all the man did was to slowly wean me off the steroids and all was back to normal. I go to doctors with alot of apprehension coz nikama kuenda kichinjio. If you dont arm yourself with information and be assertive shauri yako, its shark infested waters where patients are the prey for money hungry doctors.
