I said it a long time ago that these “dealers” in Kenya ni watu wa kushuku sana.

A friend told me a story that he took his car to a dealer for a service change.

Akaambiwa awaachie gari wataimalizia in 40 mins. So they drive his car into the workshop and ask him to wait outside.

One hour later hawajamaliza service. He asks and they tell him to relax. Two hours later bado…he asks and they say wanamalizia.

Kumbe the first hour walikuwa wameshindwa kufungua bonnet and they ended up busting that bonnet thingy. Mistake number two, one exceedingly clever guy decided to add water to the coolant because it was low…aich aich aich.

Now they had to call in a tow truck to move the car to another workshop and fix sijui nini…ogopa hawa dealers sana.

Gari ni VW…i cannot recall the dealer mwenye alipelekea…but it was in Mombasa road

Some dealers never even have service parts in stock contrary to what you may think.They rely on boda boda guys to deliver the items from Impala saa ile wewe umesubaa tu kwa reception.

Pole mbro…though maji na coolant huwa zina mix kama uko mbali na coolant iko critical levels…
Personally i prefer kuendea mechanic kwa reputable petro stations incase gari ilete noma on transit…hawa jua kali mechanic chini ya miti hapan tambua

Me i do this i go buy repair stuffs.ie oil.filters plugs etc. Then i go to my mechanic guy namkondolea macho hapo adi akiangalia break pads i go round with him .
Akitoa hio oil mzee i feel it and smell it

Hapo ndio shida. Thats not a dealer but a roadside garage. Dealer ni DT Dobie. So mwambie yeye ni peasant masquerading as a birrionaire.

I had a client like you once. Jamaa Toyota. Sipumui. Nidrain oil he wants to see, niangalie brakes he’s breathing down my neck, kwa OBD port yeye huyo. Bulb yeye ndiye ananunua. Dawa yake…
Niliwasha gari for a few minutes and when he asked why there was a slight miss, I undid one spark plug and gave it to him ashike. Ilimchoma akairusha. Meffi.
Si kwa ubaya, but Nigga giving me grief and my daily fuel budget is his for two weeks.
Mechanic ni tofauti.
And that’s why I only do bespoke now.

Bespoke ndio nini sasa?. Mazda Carol haijafanyiwa hiyo kitu, lakini sleeper ishafanyiwa. Unamdharau sana wewe kijana mzee, kuleta words zengine hapa zenye sielewi. Ile siku utapata jibu la gumba ushindwe kufanya hizo bespoke ndio utaweka heshima mfukoni. Chiet!!
