Eti Gachagua's father is the colonial Chief Nderi Wangombe who was murdered by the mau mau, and his mother is maasai?

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua now says his first name translates to ‘Ole Kasi’ in Maasai.

He said his mother comes from Kajiado County.

“Hi jina yangu Rigathi inaitwa Ole Kazi. Mimi ni Ole Kazi. Ikakorowa na wakikuyu ikawa Rigathi. Io Rigathi ikakorogwa na vijana ikawa Riggy G,” he said.

He is the eighth-born child of Nderi Gachagua Wangombe and Martha Kirigo.

“Mr Gachagua, you and (Kikuyu MP) Kimani Ichung’wah have been bragging all along that you are the sons of Mau Mau. I want to challenge you today Mr Gachagua, to tell Kenyans your relationship with Chief Nderi Gachagua Wang’ombe, who was assassinated by the Mau Mau in 1953 because of his collaboration with the brutal colonial regime,” Odinga said.

Wang’ombe, according to historical accounts, was a colonial chief who was murdered in Nyeri by the Mau Mau on October 22, 1952.

“That Gachagua came from Mathira, we want you to come clean and tell Kenyans your relationship with him. Tell us also, if your father was a Mau Mau, what was his service number in the Mau Mau movement? The same thing with Kimani Ichung’wah,” the opposition leader added.
