Wameuza mashamba yote. Real estates cannot put food on the table for the masses.
The few remaining farmers are bearing the brunt.

:D:D:D .on a serious note why is there a theft .spike in harvested coffee?
Anyone who cares to explain
Quick mbesha
charity begins at home…
But before they weren’t stealing like right now .what changed then and now ? When the coffee was controlled by some cartels nothing was stolen but now that the cartels are broken uwizi has spiked .what changed ??
I suspect that coffee is the current gold only left and the tempations are too high. Poverty and hopelessness is at a critical level.
Most folks who were farmers or worked in the farms or whose families owned land are now jobless and land less. Food is becoming scarce as farming gives way to real estates which only benefit very few.
Coffee industry huwezi iba tu hivyo juu ya quick money. This now-common case of thefts must be controlled by a select few powerful individuals since, most probably, kurushana inaweza kuwa imeanza kuwa common among the powerful too.
You almost nailed it. As more farmers’ organizations turn to value adding earning their members more there is less beans in the market for the “cartels” (read that as private coffee millers) when world prices are good. the cartels are therefore using any means to lay their hands on the beans; fueling the thefts. The so-called poverty and hopelessness is mere fantasy…
At least in Central there is coffee to steal. What of kule nini ? Pengine watu waibe ukimwi, ujinga ama abject poverty.
am a coffee farmer so toa upuzi hapa this is serious
ouch…felt it
I also understand there is a boom at the coffee market.
I understand where you come from. Why only central and not other areas like kisii, bungoma ? Just genuine question
logistics, man, and common sense. if you steal coffee in kirinyaga or nyeri you can have it rebagged and stashed away in a warehouse inside three hours. steal some in Chwele and you have 15 hours to drive it to the warehouse. which one would you go for?
Tembea Central buda acha fantasies.
Blonde tulia this is a serious Topic.
Coffee prices have gone up. Quick money. Watu wa KĂrĂnyaga na MĂşrang’a hawalali siku hizi.
but the ripe coffee is not something you will sell in a shop like bread. so the stolen coffee inapelekwa wapi?
Local Millers ndio wanatoa tender
