It is about 1.30am, less than 20 meters from KCB roundabout, along Oginga Odinga road, Kisumu. This Subaru Forester driver hits concrete flowerbed in between the lanes at insanely crazy speed, loses control and rolls over next to Ukwala Supermarket.
We rush to the scene as he crawls out of the car. No visible injuries but extremely intoxicated and arrogant. He gives the excuse of a failed braking system.
How on earth could someone be doing such a crazy speed on a roundabout in the CBD?
The guards from the adjacent shops say the previous night the guy was so drunk and reckless that a passenger forced him to stop and jumped out of the car at the same spot complaining about his recklessness. He tried to drive away but could not, stopped the car, and fell asleep with the engine running.
And a few motorists who came to the scene seem to know the driver, claiming that he drives very recklessly in total disregard of the safety of the other road users.
Even as we celebrate the new year, we must know that such level of recklessness endangers not only our lives but that of the other road users too. Don’t drive when drunk.
najua wewe ni mwepesi wa kufikiria so you can add up and surmise that I am trying to express how much lucky the guy was to survive unscathed. Thank you.
If I was there ningemtandika na nifungwe kwa kumtandika. I would come out of cell niendelee kumtandika tena. For some of us who have been close death because of drunk drivers can get so worked up with such idiocy . I swear ningemtandika poa sana
