So hapa i need some repairs done at my unit it doesn’t cost much. The equipment plus labor will cost roughly 1k-2k. I have talked to our careraker anasema hii kitu inaeza chukua a maximum of 2 months to fix (the bureaucracy of course)
So my question is should i repair for myself and seek reibursement from my landlord or should i make a formal repair request and wait
kama ni base iko na bureaucracy ama ata management company then ukihama it will be counted as damage to the original state of the property, so sahau deposit.
Its not about the amount its about the right thing to do. Nyinyi ni wale watu wenye driver wa online taxi anageuzia fare anaongeza na 200 or even 250, wewe unaamua kunyamaza eti “just 200 bob”. Boss it’s not about the amount it’s about integrity, doing things the right way
If today mpesa decides to error balances after and bring less 5bob after each transaction, will you just sit there ukisema “5bob sio kitu”…?
You see i love order it is what differentiates man from beast. It is what separates the learned from illiterates
Actually i have been doing minor repairs on my own things like fixing a broken wardrobe, correcting a faulty wiring…hizi vitu ndogo ngogo zenye haziezi fanya mwanaume asumbue caretaker bure
I have also been footing renovations fully on my own. There are some things landlord installed which were not in my preference i changed them at my own cost
But hapa am torn in between it’s not renovation it is simply repair however small. If i started fixing things on my own then landlord si atanigeuzia ikifika kwa deposit… nyumba ni yake yawa!
… repair and then deduct the expenses from the rent you pay.as long as you have informed him and no action taken .don’t forget the receipts.nilifanyia wangu hivyo ilibidi tuheshimiane.he is an orangutan from the lake side and a mganga diehard.
If you have done renovations before with your own money, what has changed now that you want to follow proper procedure? Ama si same house
Secondly, is it something that the landlord can attribute to normal wear and tear and still deduct from your deposit if you don’t repair. Atasema it was fine when you moved in so it’s up to you to fix it anyway.
Third, if inakusumbua sana just fix but don’t count on deposit. In my experience landlords never refund. Unakalia deposit then unahama
