Evolution banks on the idea that the primitive cell which brought life into existence by a spontaneous process. Of course under some environmental curcumstances proteins were sythesised as demonstrated by miller’s experiment(1952) where he successfully synthesized over 20 amino acids in laboratory conditions mimicking our primitive world. The main problem with the spontaneous origin of primitive cell is where did the cell get its ability to self replicate, process food from its environment, ability to grow some enzymes to facilitate all chemical processes etc. From? Some even claims that some extraterrestrials came and deposited such a primitive cell in our universe which as you know still raises more questions.
Now leave alone the origin of life and ask yourself, how did the big bang occur? Spontaneously again? Where did the matter at the very beginning of the big bang come from?
The only reason i believe in God is to settle these questions on the origins and the fate of the universe. Otherwise when you are told that the universe is expanding faster than speed of light, which means that some of its parts will never be seen boggles the mind.
Sure and any question concerning origin no one can claim to give a satisfactory answer. Actually I do argue that whichever stand one takes it all start at point with no cognitive reasonable answer other than just taking it by some faith /believe /mere acceptance
For before all things were visible (physical), I alone used to go about in the invisible (spiritual) things, like the sun from east to west, and from west to east. But even the sun has peace in itself, while I found no peace, because I was creating all things, and I conceived the thought of placing foundations, and of creating visible (physical) creation.
I commanded in the very lowest (parts), that visible (physical) things should come down from invisible (spiritual), and Adoil came down very great, and I beheld him, and lo! He had a belly of great light. And I said to him: Become undone, Adoil, and let the visible (physical) out of you. And he came undone, and a great light came out.And I was in the midst of the great light, and as there is born light from light, there came forth a great age, and showed all creation, which I had thought to create. And I saw that it was good.
And I placed for myself a throne, and took my seat on it, and said to the light: Go thence up higher and fix yourself high above the throne, and be A foundation to the highest things. And above the light there is nothing else, and then I bent up and looked up from my throne.
And I summoned the very lowest a second time, and said: Let Archas come forth hard, and he came forth hard from the invisible (spiritual). And Archas came forth, hard, heavy, and very red. And I said: Be opened, Archas, and let there be born from you, and he came undone, an age came forth, very great and very dark, bearing the creation of all lower things, and I saw that it was good and said to him: Go thence down below, and make yourself firm, and be a foundation for the lower things, and it happened and he went down and fixed himself, and became the foundation for the lower things, and below the darkness there is nothing else.
creation, big bang, evolution all are theories, the good thing is on big bang and evolution, you’re open to ask questions, research more and maybe get more answers unlike with creation theory where it’s either you accept it as a fact or prepare your arse to be barbecued for eternity.
But the overlying question in each of the theories is basically unanswered which means either you accept that you cannot go past the question where did the first cell come from, where did the big bang forces and even matter come from, where did God come from? It is a falasy that nobody is allowed to ask questions in religion? Actually those who claim so are kind of basically prejudiced against religion. And it’s said that your prejudices against someone affects your perception about someone or something. For instance when someone you consider an enemy starts being so nice to you even though in an effort to reconcile your are likely to believe that they are planning to hurt you. There religious books that show alot of constructive criticism/questioning like ecclesiastes, proverbs. As a kid I always wondered about the origin of things, in church we taught about God I wondered where he came from, I really loved science and I remember embracing the idea from my teachers that any claim should always be backed by some proof /evidence to be considered true otherwise false. The problem arises in the choice of what should be considered as evidence. Meaning if we can’t really agree on what evidence is it is difficult to assess statements to be either true or false. Now even agreeing on what should be considered evidence seems subjective and each field of study considers evidence differently, the scientific approach is based almost solely on material evidence, philosophy and most arts don’t follow the same path as science yet they cannot be rubbished for being non-scientific. In any case evidence is meant to help someone believe something then accept it otherwise if there seems to be no any compelling evidence as such past a given point we only have a problem…
We are too insignificant to answer these questions. Its good to have the theories because proving/disproving them will allow us to understand more.
But the bottom line is, out of trillions of planets in the milky way, we only know of the 8 in our solar system and we dont even know our own earth that well.
We cant realistically advance our knowledge on the universe until we become a space-faring planet able to visit other solar systems out there. We only know of life on one planet out of trillions in our galaxy… our own. And remember there are trillions of galaxies out there so even our current maths cant come up with a number high enough to express the number of planets in the universe… we dont even know where the universe ends
I am of the opinion that evolution theory emanates from realism school of thought while Big Bang Theory comes from idealism school of thought.
we cannot therefore be insignificant because everything begins with a thought/idea thus abstract.
