Desperate times for Standard Media

WTF…

Ruto amefinya hizo ghasia. But what buffles me about githeri media is that they obviously have interests, and politicians have interests.

There was a time ojinga was PM and he still has their full support. Not once have githeri media approached those in power to push a bill that would help them.

Hii support yao kwani huwa umalaya? Ata malaya hulipwa.

Why can’t they, for example pressure the government to change the law on KFCB. The draconian KFCB rules are obviously chocking their ability to create content with mass appeal.

They’re Limited to producing content that an 80 year old brain Ezekiel mutua likes. Media is about getting eyeballs on the screen, kfcb is limiting their ability to do that

They’re cozy with politicians who make the law for KFCB. Why can’t they pressure politicians to change the rules. If they have to suck and swallow pinuses, why can’t they see it fit to get something in return?

One of the biggest problems with Kenyan media is lack of creativity in Business Development and content creation. How comes individual content creators are making good money doing legit content online, as the mainstream media struggles to pay their staff?

If you look at very simple Youtube channels like Carnvasations (their woes not withstanding), Pamurick Show, Liv Kenya, Mara Normads, etc you realize there are is so much content the media could buy or create to keep the audience glued to the screen. Then invite advertisers to buy slots in the shows.

But again, what do you expect when they fill media houses with comedians?
