coolant

How often should one do radiator flush? Any harm using water with occasional topup na coolant ? Have had no issues yet with water…a 2003 car…where do i get good coolant? Nakumatt wako na gatex(made by holts UK) na ingine made in kenya…cant recall the name…

Also how can u tell kama coolant is mboff? does the colour matter? Green ama red?

Mimi hununua ile ya Total no problems so far

I dont trust petrol stations…kama mafuta wana haribu…what of such crucial fluids? Karibu ni haribu gearbox na atf ya petrol station…and it was just a top up ya half liter…had to flush atf…a costly affair

Usimix coolant na maji mboss!!! Ask your mech the best coolant for your car

I think they say green for diesel and red for petrol engines.

At least once a year should suffice. If it stays too long it begins to form crystals that can easily mess you up.

As much as you can, avoid using tap water in place of coolant. If you look at the temp. at which water boils vs. the engine’s operating temp, you can begin to see how insufficient/ inefficient water may be as a coolant.

Where you are, search for coolants made by Caltex. They make the best. Ukikosa tafuta za Total. After the closure of its local operations, Caltex products that you’ll find locally are mainly imported from the UAE.

What is coolant?

which can, over time, destory the water pump over time. si you know what rust can do?
there is a local coolant being made. it’s yellow in colour and costs 300/350 per litre. i use it and it’s good.
when it becomes bad it changes colour - becomes darker. though i think it’s the same with the green one as well.
