Recommended mix for general applications iko kwa bag ya cement since cement brands differ, slab thickness should be between 4-6 inches, the base or hardcore should be 6 inches minimum thickness well compacted with a little moisture of suitable locally available material and finally get a good Fundi ndio usiharibu pesa ya material on shoddy work
Above everything else umeabiwa hapa, please please please ensure umeweka BRC hata kama ni ile ndogo kama A198 plus a membrane (Polythene) underneath ur slab and the wall lines. Otherwise u will not control cracks and in the near future, u will be here asking what to do to control moisture rising on the walls.
Cement i would recommend Simba 32.5. Avoid any Bamburi 32.5 cement unless u r getting it straight from the factory. Blue triangle is also good but its availability is an issue.
This is good enough since the required quantity is small. If the quantity was high, i would recommend a mix design (this would give an exact ratio) using the materials intended for use (Cement, ballast, sand, water, additives) or at least a trial mix at a given ratio like 1:2:4 and see the strength u achieve.
Lay proper foundation with hardcore then compacted murram. Cover the murram with thick polythene and pour your concrete and use vibrator. On the walls use dumproof.
that must have been fake cement. And that the reason I was advising against Bamburi 32.5 since there is a lot of fake in the market due to demand. You know the moment counterfeiters realizes a product is popular, they come in to cash on the increased demand. I have same experience with yours; concrete made using bamburi cement took 0ver 15hrs to set/dry!
