Old age comes with a form of stubbornness. You find some kenyans being accused of not building good houses for their parents but it is parents who cannot imagine having a new house. they are so used to their houses that a new house for them would feel very artificial.

Simplicity and minimalist living is everything.Even most diaspora people who bring their old age parents to stay in winter countries ni kuwatesa from their natural environment.Kuvisit for few weeks for like medical an visit is okay but kuwaleta wakae na kubaby sit for months and years ni ku increase their stress levels and gets them depressed.

They miss their simple village socialist lifestyle.Ubuntu life where they meet and greet neighbors, their homes, village church, kutembea local market centers and kumalizia siku naka chai and going funerals to console lost. That is why in villages huwezi sikia Depression caee mingi ama watu wamecommit suicide kama gen z…wa town ama diaspora.

These capitalism , rat race and insatiable appetite for more, more…and more has kept us from what really matters.
