I see nowadays these cookware commonly in Supermarkets at very high prices so presumably they must be good… I read that Tefla Non-stick coating aint good for your health though.
That “granite” coating is more or less like teflon and peels of easily. Learnt that the hard way some time back. I seldom cooked food at home yet I had to dispose of that garbage after the coating came off in six months or less, despite only using silicon and wooden spoons on the cookware. Add stainless steel to that list and you’re all set as a man.
Stainless steel is the best option. Pricey for a good brand, but worth every penny. For pans, stainless can be tricky to use for making things like eggs if you don’t know your way around them, thus you might have to use a little more oil than usual. Second option is hard anodized aluminium. Kama huna budget ya stainless, just use aluminium pots as you save up. The rest of the options you have there with the exception of the traditional (assuming that’s nyungu) ni bure tu. You’ll just be spending on a esthetics.
I moved from teflon to granite coated . Granite is pretty decent but may peel off if you use metallic kitchenware on it… Or if you cook at high temperatures eg chapos. Currently moving from granite back to stainless steel. Less stressful long-term, non toxic and don’t have to worry about scratching them. Only exception will be the frying pan which will remain granite
I cook eggs for breakfast daily and a stainless steel pan would stress me in terms of eggs sticking to the pan. Alternative would be those heavy chapo pans (cast iron??) but it seems overkill to heat one up just for eggs
Yep, that’s overkill for two eggs. Try to heat the stainless pan on med high, pour a little oil and rotate to cover the base, turn the heat off and let it cool down a little bit, pour the eggs in and then turn on the flame to finish up the cooking.
