Credit to CS Munya, he was down after he lost heavily to Gov Murungi. Dusted himself, looked for UhuRuto, mend fences and got a position in the cabinet. Now with EA back on track, he has been promoted to Industrialization to fast track the special economic zones projects in all 47 counties to match the Big Four agenda of manufacturing and industry. A lot of push and coordination is needed in getting NLC to allocate national government and county land to industrial plant investors. Particularly challenging is getting all the utilities and services to those sites I.e power, water, roads, railways, fibre, security, sewerage treatment plant, recycling plants and workers housing etc

CS Adan did well and also he didn’t fail. The thought process now is that CS Munya will handle the rigours of pushing governors, NLC and investors faster to get the SEZ actualized. As a former governor, head of CoG and known intimately to them then things will be easier.

What is the main reason to shift a performing guy to EAC,a docket that doesn’t necessarily form part of the big 4 agenda?
I have already explained there my take on that matter. I don’t have a better angle on that for now. In cabinet remember they serve at the direction of the President However PS Trade Chris Kiptoo is God send for the ministry. His vast experience in public and private sector is showing. He is performing well. Him and CS Munya will worker bees will help get manufacturing going.

EAC is very crucial my friend…right now we are in the midst of intense negotiations on whole lots deals including EPAS, corridors,Tripatite treaty and other regional deals to help unlock our trade potential. At the moment COMESA excemptions on such goods such as sugar need experienced hands to conclude …luckily the P.S kiptoo, someone I have worked with at trademark, is very able. Otherwise Munya was good
