The war is real…a certain peasant fisi amepeleka kadem Kach 7s leo. After kulipa entrance na kubuy tuchipo na kuku etc, time ya kweenda home Kadem kanaambia boy ati “si I’ll call you, see you”'. Kumbe kamepata sponsor wa kumpeleka signature kubuy guarana the whole night. Sasa chali ako home peke yake na alikua na plan ya kula HKM, prolly trying to jam-start the bajaj. The war is real.

Wawerud chieth you are the one who spends all his time on klist. If Mafisi originated from Klist then right now everyone everywhere would be speaking of Meffi and other ktalk lexicon.
For a phrase to become popular in Kenya then it must be common on Facebook or Twitter. Those two sites are where the bulk of the population spend most of their time. Sponsors, ben10, DM/H originated from those women groups in Facebook. Mafisi was used first commonly on twitter. Ktalk has like 500 daily active members, compare to Facebook or Twitter. Nothing here will be popular outchea. But a trend on twitter will be known here.
Most of the members here like their anonymity so much that they can never use ktalk terms outside ktalk for fear of getting unmasked. That’s why 3 years on Dry fry hadi kwa mkia is not popular out there. The only thing klist made popular was the Fundamentals song by Wamaria.

Original ‘fisi’ (ifisi in Greek slang) was used way back in the late '90s to 2000 to mean makanga. That is the true and only origin.

but who started popularizinh hii maneno ya “fisi” ? so that now it has become an everyday common term in Kenya. Is the origin the issue… or who provide the spark in social media or comedy shows ? … that now it is a Kenya house hod name… educate this new villager.
