Especially in Nissans?
I dont know about Nissans but i have owned a toyota with a CVT since 2015, it has never had a transmission problem.
if you not a very aggressive driver you probably have any problems. then maintain it well
Honda fit 2010 and approximately 75k km later and am still good.
I am considering dumping CVT and gasoline cars altogether.
CVT is crap. A short cut manufacturers like these days. They are cheap to make, drive like crap, and cannot be reasonably repaired.
Drain and replace the CVTF with recommended oil and you will never have problem .FYI you will enjoy the fuel efficiency of the transmission .
Here’s the thing about CVT… manufacturers have to induce a sense that it’s changing gears… truth is it doesn’t have gears, uses a continuous set of pulleys.
They are delicate as compared to convectional autos…case in point the new Probox
CVTs are great if you want something to move you around esp in urban areas with minimum maintenance costs and headache. Otherwise if you want something more engaging try a DCT or just go straight to MT.
Avoid Nissans. Ever since they paired up with Renault, they’ve been shit.
Cvt + Nissan = Premium Tears
