The feet are just the angle of the camera creating an optical illusion.
Now take a look at the pic of jesus on the left. The head looks too large. Neck is too long too. The bottom of the robes appear narrow and constricted.
Right?
The photo on the right looks correct though. The head is in proportion. Neck looks natural. Nice wide flow and billow on the robes at the bottom.
But it’s the exact same carving in both photos.
What’s happening here?
The statue looks strange. Its all out of proportion. Feet too small, head too large. There is a reason. The statue is designed out of proportion intentionally. It is installed high above the entrance doors on the front of the Church, intended to be viewed from far below, so the sculptor intentionally skewed the perspective of the statue’s features so that it would look correct when viewed from below.
it’s the same thing going on in the video. Her feet are not large, it’s just poor camera angle
