After Gachagua Now Kuria Threatens "Self Induced MIA" For Attention

CS Kuria Vows to Remain Silent for 4 Months After Complaining of State House & Limuru 3 Snubs

After incessant complaints that he was being frozen out of key political events by both senior government officials and Azimio politicians, Public Service Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria on Monday announced he was embarking on self-induced silence lasting four months.

Kuria vowed that he would never contribute to political discourse until August 2024.

At that time, he explained that he would have a presser which he claimed would change the political dynamics of the country.

“I will be issuing a major announcement that will change the political future and landscape of Kenya on 20th August 2024 at 10 am,” CS Kuria stated.

On taking a vow of silence, he stated, “Until then, I will not issue a political position or opinion on any issue.”

This was not the first time Moses Kuria was threatening to be silent after encountering political frustrations.

After performing dismally in the Kiambu gubernatorial contest in August 2022, Kuria stated that he would no longer engage Kenyans on social media.

The vow barely lasted a week as he became active in criticising the opposition for their reluctance to recognise William Ruto as the duly elected President of the Republic of Kenya.

Kuria’s latest frustration stems from what he perceives as spite from the National Government and leaders from his home turf.

The CS had earlier complained about why President William Ruto kept inviting Kiambu leaders to the State House without his knowledge.

He remarked that any discussion touching on Kiambu should not proceed without his presence as he was the senior most politician from the region courtesy of his cabinet position.

Kuria has also shown his frustration that former Members of Parliament Jeremiah Kioni and Martha Karua hold high-profile political meetings including Limuru 3 rally without inviting him.

Wait, kuria aligombania governor na akanyoroshwa?

Kuria Escalates Spat With Gachagua

Public Service Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria on Thursday accused Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua of setting him up against President William Ruto.

The CS while taking to his social media accounts, alleged how Gachagua mobilised a team to set up fake accounts using his name.

According to Kuria, the Deputy President’s team would then go ahead to attack the Head of State using the alleged fake accounts.

CS Kuria also claimed that the DP was not only fighting the president but also some of Ruto’s close allies including Majority Leader in the National Assembly Kimani Ichung’wah and Kiharu Member of Parliament, Ndindi Nyoro.

The Deputy President was also accused of staging political wrangles against Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja.

“Dear Team Rigathi Gachagua. Stop it! You have set up a whole unit to do paddy accounts and fake accounts in my name to fight President Ruto, Governor Sakaja, Hon Ichung’wah, Hon Ndindi Nyoro etc.,” CS Kuria alleged.

“Please! I don’t have any problem with you. You are doing more harm than good to your boss,” he added.

It is not the first time the CS has hit out at the Deputy President. In his recent comments, Moses Kuria publicly lectured Gachagua for attempting to interfere with the Mt Kenya caucus dubbed Limuru III.

Kuria who spoke during an interview on Citizen TV, expressed his disappointment by Gachagua’s attempts to convince Martha Karua and Jeremiah Kioni to change their stance on holding the Limuru III meeting.

According to CS Kuria, the second in command allegedly invited Karua and Kioni to his Karen residence to try and convince them to drop their plans of convening the Mt Kenya meeting.

“He is my boss but I don’t agree with him because we were elected by the people to solve their issues," CS Kuria remarked on Gachagua’s sentiments to Karua and Kioni.

“Solutions of this country have no forwarding address that If you have a problem you go to a specific person, this country has a lot of problems. Who are you?” Kuria questioned as he lectured the DP.

A scuffle broke out during the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party elections in Nairobi on Friday afternoon after supporters of Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja and Embakasi North Member of Parliament James Gakuya’s clashed.

The wrangles ensued after a section of party members allied to MP Gakuya attempted to bar the Governor’s supporters from participating in the elections.

Following the move, Sakaja’s supporters resorted to a fight, forcing the election officials to momentarily halt the voting process.

A section of party members also accused the election officials of engaging in irregularities by allowing non-party members to participate in the elections.

Police officers who were on high alert quickly intervened to quell the situation with the election officials scampering for safety.

The officers lobbed tear gas canisters into the air to disperse the party members who were going at each other.

Gakuya’s supporters could be heard chanting Sakaja’s name calling for his ouster.

“We arrived at the voting polling centre early and lined up to vote only for a group of individuals to spark wrangles,” narrated one of the voters.

“Some of the leaders within this area orchestrated the fight, forcing the police to intervene.”

While lamenting the wrangles, a section of the voters urged the party leadership to intervene and take action against persons instigating such incidents.

The latest incident comes amidst a thickening controversy that has marred the UDA party and its leadership.

The elections which took place on Friday, May 31, came against the backdrop of the UDA Party’s National Elections Board’s dismissal of Secretary General Malala’s’ postponement of party primaries in five counties as invalid.

UDA National Elections Board (NEB) chairperson Anthony Mwaura dismissed an alleged notice by Malala which halted elections in Nairobi, West Pokot, Narok, Busia and Homa Bay.
