The rule is that only officers serving inside the Supreme Court premises will be allowed to bear firearms. Of course that rule does not apply to Weta and JaKuon, since they they brought the petition to court and therefore must enjoy higher privileges:

Mr Wetang’ula insisted that the officer should be allowed into the court premises saying “these are our security. He is an officer like yourself. Behave yourself. This boy is an officer like you”.
The officers manning the gate allowed them to enter, but moments later, Mr Lonyang’ was forced out and his pistol was taken away.
The pistol’s magazine, which was loaded with several bullets, was emptied.
I sure hope Pillport and JaKuon have a job for this poor cop who they emboldened to disobey his superiors. What did he need his pistol for in a weapons-free environment?
