This guy claims he harvests 300 bags of potatoes from 2 acres of land (150 bags an acre on average).
He explains that he uses farm tractors to till the land. An interesting thing I’ve noted is that he has 10 acres of land but he’s sub-divided it into a barley section, carrot section, peas section etc and his rationale is that if a particular crop has a bad market at a particular time then another crop having a great market period is there to salvage the situation.
It’s actually incredible and I feel like farming is very underrated. Everyone spending 5M to get a 50 by 100 plot of land in Kamakis should seriously start thinking about land as a factor of production. Doing so would enable them to see that it’s of more value acquiring 10 acres of land deep in the bundus and put it into good use.
Any farmers here? Mnalima nini?
