480watts...audiophiles saidieni

I have this woofer rated 480watts from VIBE AUDIO (UK). which is the best amplifier for it? this is for indoor use.

I’d never heard of vibe audio so I had to check them out. Seems they specialise in car audio so I assume your woofer (subwoofer?) is rated 4 ohms?

I think its 5ohms.so wot do u advice??

:eek::eek::eek:
uza hii and buy a normal home theater. hii maneno wachia audiophiles. ukasema ni kuuza unaeza dai mangapi? iko kwa enclosure?

Haha. Nakuona bro. Yea, iko kwa the original enclosure. I need an amp coz ile it came with sio yake na haina rating clear naimechapa

Amp purchase will depend on speaker impedance…
I’ve never seen a 5 ohm speaker, usually impedance is 4, 8, 16 or rarely 32.
Verify first

Cool. Wacha nifike home i confirm

I have ROTEL amp if you’re interested…can send you the model number and pics

5 ohm ile nimeona ni hizi mid za home theater

Its 4ohm, 450w

Options limited, include

  1. Get a car amp.
They’re usually stable down to 2-4 ohms
If aesthetics isn’t an issue the other problem is usually power supply(DC) for which PC power supplies work.
  2. Get a commercial/pro amp.
Expensive option. Overkill for domestic use.
  3. Get a used amp@ 10-15k and another 4 ohm speaker and wire the two speakers in series = 8 ohm load ( I’m here)
  4. Sell that speaker and buy something more user friendly.

think i will stick to no.1
thank you
