3bdr bungalow on 1/8 acre. Why don't we build such beautiful houses?

Si ununue eighth yako ujenge hivyo. We will follow your lead

Simple. We don’t want to stand out too much. That would bring security issues, more maintenance, unwanted guests, etc. If there were 100 houses like that around me I would gladly have that. Add a few more layers to my security and lifestyle

Its all in the finishing. Africans do not want to put much money into finishes. You basically can clean up a house (single storey) in umoja to look like that if you know where to shop. Of course without the pool.

I have a beautiful house, not that beautiful but really good. Shida kubwa ni craftsmanship. In the entire building chain only one person nilipata mwenye ako na interest za mwenyewe at heart. The painter. Kuna jamaa ana jina ya kicoast he did my painting and gypsum finish. If I have more money yeye tu ndio nitaretain.

Show us.

From the outside, a house shouldn’t be over the top, showy or preposterous: the inside is where exceptional aesthetics, luxurious features and focus be. Make it the best you can.

I think a bigger problem is finding skilled workmanship to get good finishes. Most fundi here go to the same jua kali copycat school of shoddy unsightly finishes. Kenyans have generally grown to accept cheesy and pathetic finishing construction work products offered by their fundis.

Clients will initially approach with grand ideas and the free will to let your creativity flow… once you do the design and bq that entire narrative changes… and no there is not shortage of good fundis Kenyans are generally allergic to pay professionals in the construction industry. Most of them prefer to gather labour’s from friends who have build houses before.
