Now that by elections are over, I’m hoping non of you doubts William Ruto will win 2027 elections. He will get another term.
Some of you may argue, how will he win? He will win just like all other elections have been won. We all remember Raila Odinga allegations about elections in the supreme court and how the courts ruled.
The best any one interested in ousting him can get is simply enriching our jurisprudence on matters elections.
Again, as I have always said, 2032 William Ruto will return power from where he got, that is the mountain. So anyone angling now hoping in 2032 they will win the presidency, and they are not from the mountain should wake up from their dreams.
There’s no pact, but circumstances such as ability to mobilize their traditional bases into blocks, financial muscles to push and buy support, business interests that directly benefit from proximity to power, a significant proportion of members of those communities occupy many influential positions in government makes it easy for them to have the highest chance. Besides, our politics are tribal and iebc cannot guarantee a free fair credible elections all the time.
Once they mechanize their farms to a sufficient degree, the chances of finding a Kalenjin outside Rift Valley will be 0.03%. That goes for the Presidency as well.
I doubt, mechanizing agriculture will push many to other areas like agro processing probably and Tech and that will need them collaborate more with outsiders.
People accuse them of being so intolerant or tribal, probably to imply they prefer keeping to themselves. It’s simply because their farms serve almost all their needs. Unlike say Kikuyu who need tenants, cheaper raw materials, markets etc.
The same can be said of somalis, for now their close knit families and clans provide the needed capital and insurance to start business. But Kenya is less than 10% Islamic. At some point they will have to embrace the 90% christians by guaranteeing customer is always right
