The court has ordered the Principal of Butere Girls High School to recall the 50 students who had been send home to come back, prepare and participate in the National drama festivals starting on 07th April in Nakuru County.

“Echoes of War” was dropped from the Western Winners galla after the principal received a call from state house that the play would embarass the First Lady who is an alumnus of the school.

This is not the first time the school is facing controversy in drama and music festivals. In 2013 their play “Shackles of Doom” was dropped for depicting socila inequalities in the society, the play was later order to be played by Justice David Majanja. Both plays were written by Cleophas Malala.
