Their uptake for long distance was low. Though I see them offering services but not in large numbers

Almost every bus whose body has been fabricated locally was not originally designed for transporting passengers. They import chassis frames for lorries and convert them to buses. I believe everyone of us happened to travel seated at the rear most end of these buses, and you know the discomfort, especially when the bus goes over a bump or off road, no matter how new the bus appears to be. But it is a significantly different experience if you travel by the imported ready made buses like the Modern Coast’s Oxygen, or even these Chinese buses.

There are chassis for buses and lorries. Those that come esp for Scania are bus frame chassis even the engine is smaller(5 cylinder) and the gearbox is also different from the ones used in trucks.

Perhaps a few. And I believe they must be expensive. But most of the buses are very uncomfortable because the specifications of passenger transporting vehicles are not fully met. For instance, the quality of shock absorbers and suspension bushings. The Oxygen buses use airbag shock absorbers!

I think the difference is that the body is chinese built and adheres vehicle industry standard as opposed to buses built in kenya.

with the exception if modern coast’s Scania P410. Na hawafichi. Guess they should be the most powerful buses in the country.
