You will hate @Gaines for telling you this but it is the pure truth

A salary of 80K-100K per month will leave you struggling alot in Nairobi especially if you have a family. You need alteast Ksh 150,000 per month to give a wife and may be two little kids decent life in Nairobi…But ukijenga outskirts za Nairobi. Range ya 100 to 130K is manageable

Hizi ni upuzi za “masonko maskini” middle class will always brag about their 100K salary and their high paying job
Comparison na dick measuring contest ndo humaliza watu nairobi

Kuna people living very happily and comfortably with a 30K salo

Lakini ukishajiwekelea shule za kukujiwa na basi na maloan za jalopy utaishi maisha ya kumeza dawa ya pressure

Lakini sasa rent + food + utilities + transport + family expenses (kids need books, a shoe here and there nini nini) si iyo 30k kwisha??

Unless ni ushago where you don’t pay rent.

On this I agree. There is a guy I know amejiekelea kulipia watoto 300K per term shule flani international hapo Kamiti road… I think all his earnings goes to school fees and rent. Huyu ni mtu utampata bila ata zero savings and even borrows 10K before big cheque checks in. Ni kama biashara imeenda mlama and he is thinking of shutting down. We call them wannabee middle class citizens

Ata akichukua mortgage monthly payments zitakuwa iyo bei anywhere he will afford to build.

Na uwache stupid questions. Do you think childless men are the ones living in all those apartments in Kayole? Umoja? Mwiki? Tembea uone a whole family living in a bed sitter.

3 bedroom Zimmerman or anywhere in Nairobi (ata Kayole) is very decent housing in a third world shithole country.

Do you think every married man has a maisonette in Kitengela? My friend according to Kenyan standards those people with maisonettes in middle class / upcoming estates are your upper middle class.

3-5M ya plot. 5-8M for a modest maisonette. Where do you think this money is coming from? Anyone who can afford that ACCORDING TO KENYAN STANDARDS is an upper middle class individual.

A person earning 100k can’t afford land + maisonette in Nairobi metropolitan. Only businessmen can. Where will a person making 100k get 10M to build his own house in Nairobi? Toa expenses alafu piga hesabu.

Payments za such a loan will kill the nigga. Saving with such little money is impossible. I have no idea how people to it.

As a man you have to make every cent work…na reason nimesema as a man is because men hukuwa controlled na mabibi sana because they want to live the high life same as her friends

What’s wrong na kuishi ata 1 bedroom …utafute a place with a big sitting room which will double also as a bed area for your two kids???

What’s wrong kupeleka watoi wako a good private primary school with high performance and good teachers ….why must you show off with expensive schools

100K ni pesa mingi sana ata na familia …. Suffer now yes watoto wakiwa wadogo but at least by the time wanafika high school you have saved enough to build a home where each one of them can finally have their own room

Oh and by the way im speaking from experience coz that’s exactly how my life went so it’s tried, tested and works because i saw that with my dad
