Anyways … who can explain to me in layman’s language why anyone whose making 300k for instance like our boy hapa, would save money for a couple years and then use up all his saving to acquire property, start a business and what not, while we got banks. I never understood the logic behind that … something that seems to be prevalent among Kenyans from the upper middle-class all the way to the down-trodden folks in our society.
We Rustler family never ever use our own money for shit … while making investments. Our bankers would strongly advise against it and so should yours. You will never get out of the matrix if u work to save and use the same savings on projects that would take years sometime decades to have actual return on investments, if your lucky. Chances are u will probably die before recouping your investments. Always use institutional money guys. Atleast that’s what any financial expert would advice I think. U save up 10 mil in 10 yrs alafu unaitumia kununua mploti maguta maguta na kujenga apts zita take another 20 yrs to break even. Wtf. With that money ; any bank will finance that project and multiple more if u wish. But hey imma just bandit, who steals cattle for a living… how would I know.
Building or buying cash is only feasible for moneyed folk or diaspora Kenyans because they can access $100k easily.
Kenyans in Kenya who take 10 years to save 10M are better off taking loans. The problem is interests zitawapeleka vibaya sana. One job loss away from kuchotwa ubaki with nothing. I suppose that’s why most prefer using their own money to taking loans.
How did you find such? That’s a very good deal.
The sad reality is you probably won’t retire in 20 yrs even if you save 500k per month. You will son have bigger goals. Opening several branches. New businesses etc. You will be secure financially but still chasing the money until you are 70+. The thirst for money is insatiable.
In 10 years, you’ll have spent 8M in rent with ZERO equity to your name. If you know you’ll always remain in Nairobi, why don’t you buy a 50 by 100 at 3M like everybody else and build your own maisonette for 5M?
In 10 years, you’ll unlock 20M minimum just by owning that property. What gives?
On TikTok bro lol. I’m a fan of real estate videos on social media from the likes of Mansa Plus and Enes Yilmazer. But now my social media algorithms decided to show me some nice local rental listings as well and voila
My crypto portfolio has grown by 17m this year alone. With rent and investment in liquid assets, you can easily come out ahead in Kenya. Rent is a very good deal here actually if you compare globally
It doesn’t change the fact that you’ll be 8M down after year 10. Why be 8M down when you can be 20M up??
Bruh…never waste your valuable man hours engaging that boy @DukeOfKabeteshire on financial matters.
So I’m up 17m on crypto right now. Let’s say I take your 8m and invest it in the safest financial instrument: treasury bills. Yield of 13% annually right now. In those 10 years you are talking about, with compound interest, I will have 27m total. The numbers have spoken, I will not debate this any further.
Haha, I’m not arguing with you. I’m merely telling you that you’ll be losing 20M-8M if you keep renting for the next 10 years straight. Whether you invest in treasury bills or not, you still have to pay rent, correct? So either way, 8M will have disappeared in 10 years. Idk about you but this could easily be 20M.
Investing in one asset class doesn’t mean you can’t invest in another. Also, you don’t want to drop all 17M on treasury bills. That’s dumb. Ideally, you want to DCA but you do you man.
See you at the top.
Don’t be a stingy bonobo! There’s a pleasure in giving. Making just money & not spending is not satisfactory. Get someone & spend some money on. You will feel satisfied & happy…you will see the happiness in that person’s face when you do it. Now that will make you feel proud & happy about your money. Ikuwe ni a woman, be it a kid or children’s home. Come out of your stingy closet & make life worthwhile for you & your people, nongwe wewe!!
lol
It’s my money. Nikitaka kuchoma yote bado ni yangu, nikitaka ni ishi single room like the miser I am bado pesa ni yangu.
It’s my philosophy. It’s how I choose to live my life, it’s worked for me before, I wont abandon it when am milking the fruits now and from following the above guidelines is how i managed to remove my self from below poverty line.
I am not dating because I do not want to share my money, I do not date because of the inconveniences involved in modern dating.
Anyway if you are a free spirit with spending and distributing your money good for you, I hope you never lack, but you should never manage others finances wether it’s for a company/business or others.
