I disagree with this. Uhurus were not in power for 20 years after Jomo passed. Yet, they did not lose any of their wealth. You don’t need political power to protect your wealth. You need money.
You need power. You can use money to buy power but ultimately you need it. Moi was in power. And he selected him to take over.
How many gvt posts has the bugger served?

Moi did their dirty work. He protected the family of thieves and ensured they take power after him. This he proved when he betrayed all the Kanu bigwigs and settled for the greenhorn Uhuru as his preferred successor.
At the end. They survived 20plus years rather quietly .
Their comfort and prosperity was at the top of his administration’s agenda
I agree with Dr. Ekuru on this matter… I do not believe in the nonsense that UK is retiring is he keeps repeating to the public so that they can pass BBI…I have asked on social media 100 times about it and nobody has been courageous enough to respond to me… And my Question has always been " Does the passage of BBI constitutional amendment stop Uhuru from vying again?" Let us not repeat the nonsense that he says that he is going home to retire in 2022… That is pure hogwash and there is no proof that he can keep promises… whatsoever… Let us answer this and our eyes will be open. The Internet never forgets, so let us review this in July after BBI passes (It will pass even though I will vote NO)
